I’m a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and an accredited member of IACP. I am committed to providing a professional and caring service. I understand the importance of building a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship where clients can begin to heal.

These experiences have come to teach me that everyone needs support at some stage in their life and I want to be part of reducing the stigma around getting support for mental health and making it part of the everyday conversation.

"I contacted Sinead for therapy to help with Anxiety I was experiencing. From the first phone call to arrange an appointment and throughout all of our sessions she made me feel calm and at ease. Sinead helped me in a professional but friendly way which has made such a difference to my life."
"I would like to thank Sinead for the fantastic counselling service she provided. She helped me to see things clearly in my life, which will help me going forward."
"I attended Sinead for counselling for 11 months. The environment that Sinead provides for her sessions is calm and comfortable which is important to me as i suffer from vertigo. The colour in the room is calming and airy. Sinead is a professional and warm person who displays empathy with her expressions and has a very calming presence. She is an excellent listener. I would be relating an experince to her and she would reflect back to me somehing i had said months previously and I would be able to fit the pieces together in my head and understand my feelings to a much deeper level than ever before. I began to see patterns in my life that Sinead would guide me through. If there were times when I found it difficult to talk through the anxiety Sinead would do gentle relaxing techniques with me. I have been to counselling at other times in my life but i have never reached the level of understanding myself and how my mind works as much as I did with Sinead. I cannot recommend Sinead highly enough to anyone in need of counselling."
"Sinead is a kind, compassionate and understanding person who has helped me in unexplainable ways over the course of our work together. Not only does she put you completely at ease from the moment you meet but nothing you could ever say is too much for her to talk you through. She always helps you to reframe your thoughts and view things in a better light. Sinead is professional in all respects of the word but has a friendly manner that made our weekly sessions something I looked forward to. It was just like having a chat with your pal. I cannot recommend her enough. If you are going through a tough time, her kind, listening ear could be just what you need."

“I attended counselling with Rhona for a couple of months to help me with anxiety and stress. She is so welcoming and makes you feel at ease. I felt like I was in a safe and supportive environment which made it even easier for me to speak out and speak my mind.
I often felt 10 ft tall by the time I left the session, couldn’t recommend her enough!”

"I attended Vincent over phone a few times in this pandemic I found the therapy work very helpful, understanding & benefical to me"
As a fully accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I have experience counselling with community based counselling services, at a residential rehabilitation centre and in private practice.
My philosophy of counselling is to a large extent influenced by Carl Rogers who maintained that each of us is a person of inherent worth. There is no one therapeutic model that suits everyone and effective counselling is, I believe, based on the strength of the relationship between the counsellor and the client. Working in an integrative way in a safe and compassionate space, I support my clients as they journey towards finding more peace and fulfilment in their lives and becoming who they were created to be. I have worked with a diverse range of issues including relationship conflicts, work related issues, stress and anxiety, trauma, loss, low esteem, clients seeking to overcome addictions and clients with current or previous criminal convictions

I currently provide online counselling (via Zoom), telephone counselling and face to face counselling from my practice in North Frederick Street, Dublin 1.
I'm an Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist. I'm also an Equine-assisted Learning Counsellor/Facilitator and artist. I combine these skill sets to create a very unique and creative psycho-therapeutic experience. I also have experience of working with groups from self-development with horses to addiction recovery aftercare programs.
I have worked with a variety of clients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their life experiences of anxiety, sadness, uncertainty, grief, loss, abandonment, addiction, trauma, co-dependency, coercion, sexuality, identity and spiritual separateness.
Meeting with new clients and deepening the therapeutic relationship is an enriching part of this work. Seeing people reclaim their lives, developing a more authentic sense of themselves and learning to respond to what they have experienced in the past and their present-day needs are the essence of why I am motivated to be a therapist.
I believe the healing power of relationship, connection, acceptance and unconditional positive regard helps people to work through what they are unsure about (pre-contemplation) and gain a greater understanding of their life experiences (contemplation) past and present.
During the counselling sessions, I collaboratively and creatively work with my clients, helping them explore their life challenges, strengths, limitations, and personal resources. Clients gain a new sense of themselves, connecting with what is important to them, achieving tasks, setting goals, and creating opportunities to meet their life differently.

“Counselling has helped me overcome challenges at work, Marina helped me see myself and helped put me in my world. I went from not being seen, afraid to stand-up for myself to recognising what my wants and needs are. Thank you, Marina, for helping me understand that I am worth seeing and how to stay the course”.
“I fought so hard against anxiety I did not want it; I could not even say I had anxiety, like I was failing. Marina helped me find peace with the worries I had. The creative work we did helped me understand why I had these feelings in the first place. I have tools now to connect with myself and pay attention. I listen to my whole body now not just my head and the thoughts that would spiral”.
