Sinead

Hi, I’m Sinead

I’m a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and an accredited member of IACP. I am also the founder of Here4you Therapy. I am committed to providing a professional and caring service. People come to counselling to explore many different issues such as: depression, anxiety, addiction, personal development, mental health, bereavement, stress management and trauma. Counselling can help to explore issues in your life and bring about more clarity in a supportive and safe space. I provide a space free from judgment where clients can come to talk and work through their concerns. I understand the importance of building a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship where clients can begin to heal.

Qualifications:

  • BA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • SAOR Certificate in Screening and Brief Interventions for problem substance use
  • ASSIST Certificate - Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
  • Professional Certificate in the Therapeutic use of Mindfulness
  • QQI Certificate in Training Delivery and Evaluation
  • Certificate in Children First
  • Certificate in CBT
  • Kleinian Psychoanalysis - Member of the Kleinian Association of Ireland
  • Certificate in The Rewind Technique - technique for the treatment of trauma.

Experience:

  • I worked for 2 years with Teenline Ireland as a helpline volunteer. I supported teens all over the country by providing a safe space that they could come to talk without being told what to do or feeling judged.
  • I worked for 1 year with Bodywhys supporting people who are struggling with eating disorders and their friends and family. I worked as a volunteer support group facilitator and email support.
  • I worked with The Village Counselling Service offering low cost counselling to the local area.
  • I have previous experience in training and I use my knowledge to provide workshops on different areas of personal development and well-being.
  • I worked with The Institute for Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy as a Teaching Assistant, helping student counsellors to develop their counselling skills.

These experiences have come to teach me that everyone needs support at some stage in their life and I want to be part of reducing the stigma around getting support for mental health and making it part of the everyday conversation.

"I attended Sinead for counselling for 11 months. The environment that Sinead provides for her sessions is calm and comfortable which is important to me as i suffer from vertigo. The colour in the room is calming and airy. Sinead is a professional and warm person who displays empathy with her expressions and has a very calming presence. She is an excellent listener. I would be relating an experince to her and she would reflect back to me somehing i had said months previously and I would be able to fit the pieces together in my head and understand my feelings to a much deeper level than ever before. I began to see patterns in my life that Sinead would guide me through. If there were times when I found it difficult to talk through the anxiety Sinead would do gentle relaxing techniques with me. I have been to counselling at other times in my life but i have never reached the level of understanding myself and how my mind works as much as I did with Sinead. I cannot recommend Sinead highly enough to anyone in need of counselling."

"Sinead is a kind, compassionate and understanding person who has helped me in unexplainable ways over the course of our work together. Not only does she put you completely at ease from the moment you meet but nothing you could ever say is too much for her to talk you through. She always helps you to reframe your thoughts and view things in a better light. Sinead is professional in all respects of the word but has a friendly manner that made our weekly sessions something I looked forward to. It was just like having a chat with your pal. I cannot recommend her enough. If you are going through a tough time, her kind, listening ear could be just what you need."
