Trauma Therapy Intensives: Feel Better Faster

What is a Trauma Therapy Intensive?

A Trauma Therapy Intensive is a personalised and condensed approach to trauma treatment. Instead of spreading sessions over months or years, we create a powerful, focused space where you can safely process trauma and move toward lasting relief — in days, not months. Instead of attending weekly 1-hour sessions, you dedicate 1,2 or 3 days to engage in deep, uninterrupted therapeutic work. This approach allows for deeper processing and often leads to faster and more lasting relief.


During the intensive, I use some of these therapeutic techniques:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing)
  • The Rewind Technique (a gentle trauma treatment)
  • Parts Work / Inner Child Work
  • Somatic Awareness
  • Psychoeducation
    All tailored to you.

How Does It Work?

Before we begin your Trauma Therapy Intensive, we’ll meet for a Pre-Intensive Interview. This is a vital step where we clarify your goals and explore what life looks like for you right now — including your support system, current stressors, coping strategies, and the areas where you are hoping for relief, healing, or growth. Together, we’ll create a focused plan for our time together. You will also receive a tailored Trauma Therapy Intensive workbook. 


During the Trauma Therapy Intensive, we work on two key goals:
1. To reduce the emotional pain linked to past or current experiences
2. To strengthen and enhance the positive, supportive aspects of your life


We do this through reprocessing, along with resourcing activities such as guided imagery, mindfulness, creative exercises, or other integrative techniques — all using the gentle power of bilateral stimulation. Depending on your individual needs, we may explore early life experiences and attachment patterns, or for some, we may focus more on future goals and resilience-building. This process is always tailored to you and your journey.


Following the intensive, we’ll meet for a Post-Intensive Integration Session. Here, we reflect on the insights, shifts, and meaningful moments that emerged during the intensive, and explore how to carry these into your daily life. I also encourage you to share some of these insights with the important people around you, so they can support and celebrate the changes you’ve made.

Hi, I’m Sinead

I am a dedicated, empathetic and experienced Psychotherapist, Coach and Mental Health Consultant with a special focus on anxiety and Trauma.  I'm passionate about helping others overcome anxiety and trauma and I have made this the focus of my work. A Trauma Therapy Intensive is an accelerated form of therapy. We will meet for a focused period of therapy, ranging from a few hours to several days, designed to help you process and heal from trauma more quickly and deeply than traditional weekly sessions. It combines several trauma therapy techniques in a safe, structured format.


Many people wonder if working through trauma intensively — over a few hours or days — is too much. But actually, research shows the opposite.


Intensive trauma therapy is well tolerated and can help people feel better, faster.
Studies have shown that doing focused trauma therapy over a short period (like a few days) can lead to faster results than weekly sessions — and it may even lower the chances of dropping out early.

Absolutely. Many clients come for a trauma intensive while continuing with their current therapist. I’m happy to coordinate with them (with your permission) to ensure continuity of care.


We can work with a wide range of trauma — including childhood trauma, sexual abuse, emotional neglect, medical trauma, grief, relationship trauma, accidents, and other overwhelming life experiences.


Weekly therapy offers gradual progress over time. A trauma intensive allows us to work deeply, without the stop-start nature of weekly sessions. It’s ideal if you want faster results, have limited time, or are ready to make a big shift.


If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you want to make meaningful progress in a shorter time frame, an intensive might be right for you. We’ll explore this together during a free consultation before booking.

Some insurance plans may reimburse a portion of the cost of an Intensive. I recommend calling your insurance company first in order to get details about your specific plan.  I’m happy to provide more information to help with this process.
